- Increase in incidence of Cancer will be 30% over the next 10 years.

- 5 Acute Care Centres provide 40% of Care. St V's is one of them

- 80% of our patients receive their radiotherapy at Peter Mac

- We treat up to 115 Patients with cancer every day. This figure is set to rise dramatically over the next 10 years
- We specialise in Cancer Surgery
- We were at the forefront of Cancer Care Planning – our model now used in hospitals throughout Victoria
- We diagnose more cancer of the bowel, stomach and oesophagus than any other hospital in Victoria
- St. V’s is #1 in treatment for Head & Neck and Ear, Nose & Throat Cancers
- St. V’s is #1 in Sarcoma Treatment – cancers in bones and joints
- St. V’s manages 30% of lung cancers for Victoria
- St. V’s is #1 in Skin cancer treatment
- Over 30% of our cancer patients come from regional Victoria with a large number from Morwell, Traralgon, Bairnsdale, Shepparton, Wangaratta and Wodonga.
What this appeal will achieve
- We will create a purpose built Cancer Centre at St. V's – replacing a 40 year old facility
- We will double the number of patients we can see each day
- All outpatient cancer consultations and treatments services, clinical research teams and the many cancer services departments will be in the one area of the hospital.
- We will attract clinicians and researchers from around the world to the new facility
- Funding for Cancer Research will increase when it is undertaken in a facility that embraces collaboration and discovery
- We will change the way someone feels about Cancer by providing an environment and facility that is second to none
